Election funding disclosures

The NAOF receives advance disclosures, actual election funding disclosures and post-election disclosures related to election campaign funding:

  • The advance disclosure is voluntary and contains a plan for election campaign expenses and funding.
  • The election funding disclosure is submitted only by elected candidates and alternate members.
  • The post-election disclosure is submitted only by the elected candidates and alternate members with outstanding election funding loans. The obligation to submit a post-election disclosure only applies to parliamentary elections and elections to the European Parliament.

Data sets

The NAOF publishes the election funding disclosures in CSV format. Four data files are published on each election:

  • funding rows for advance disclosures
  • funding sources and expenses itemised in advance disclosures
  • funding rows for election funding disclosures
  • funding sources and expenses itemised in election funding disclosures.

Explore the data sets

The advance disclosures of the candidates who were not elected or appointed as alternate members will remain available online for 30 days after the confirmation of the election results. On that date, the information will also be removed from CSV files.

The UTF-8 is used as the character set and semicolon as the separator. If the discloser has used a semicolon in text fields, this will cause information to move to wrong columns. If you open the data file using a spreadsheet, and such letters as ä, ö or å are not displayed correctly, you should first save the file on your device and then open it using the spreadsheet import function.
